Clarity is key. I had the opportunity to sit with a resume coach who interrogated me about every item on my resume. Initially it was painful but he forced me to clarify every claim which has translated to a more genuine elevator speech and comfort level with positions I am pursuing. The process has even opened my eyes to other positions I hadn't initially considered. How ironic that clarity actually broadened my scope.
I believe I could actually explain to my mother what I do.
